History
The CFBP is the brainchild of several leading industrialists who recognized the imperative need for business and industry to regulate itself:
Born on October 2nd, 1966, on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the CFBP was the only first organization of businessmen and professionals that functioned for the benefit of the consumers. Even now, it continues to be the only one.
The CFBP sought to create an environment where business confidence was built through ethical business practices and fostered in an atmosphere of trust and respect between businesses, professionals, consumers and other stakeholders. A Code of Conduct for businessmen was also formulated to this effect.
Today, the CFBP is recognized by the Department of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India, and it has even extended a grant to enable it to step up redressal of consumer complaints and conduct education programmes for the benefit of consumers. An MOU was signed between the Department of Consumer Affairs and the CFBP in New Delhi.
